Greetings one and all, and welcome back for US Election 2008's coverage of the third and final Presidential debate of this election cycle, from the campus of Hofstra University in Long Island, NY. This week, a confident Barack Obama leads in the national polls, but John McCain reckons he's got them right where he wants them. Only the next 3 weeks will tell for sure, but in the mean time tonight's debate represents the only scheduled occasion the two candidates will have to confront one another directly before the election.

We'll be here to highlight key points and ask some questions, but as always this is all about you, so join the fray and tell us what you think. And stay tuned for the post-debate insta-poll... we'll be asking you to tell us who you think won, and why.

What networks have commentary? Do they actually speak up during the debate and discuss it, or are you referring to the talking heads after it's over?

Ah.

I watched most the debates on CNN because some of the extra crap they show on screen amuses me. I guess some of that would be what you'd call insta-polls. But I only pay attention to that crap half the time and don't give it much meaning. Least of all the analyst scorecard, which I'm not even sure the analysts know what they are scoring, and each of the analysts seems to have their own individual bias. Once the talking heads come on at the end, I turn it off. So to me, it doesn't make a difference what channel I watch it on, the part I really pay attention to is the same on all of them. That is why it confused me at first when I saw people say "Watch it on X instead of Y due to the bias".
