Greetings one and all, and welcome back for US Election 2008's coverage of the third and final Presidential debate of this election cycle, from the campus of Hofstra University in Long Island, NY. This week, a confident Barack Obama leads in the national polls, but John McCain reckons he's got them right where he wants them. Only the next 3 weeks will tell for sure, but in the mean time tonight's debate represents the only scheduled occasion the two candidates will have to confront one another directly before the election.

We'll be here to highlight key points and ask some questions, but as always this is all about you, so join the fray and tell us what you think. And stay tuned for the post-debate insta-poll... we'll be asking you to tell us who you think won, and why.

SNAP! No you didn't!
McCain zings Obama: "I am not President Bush. If you wanted to run against President Bush, you should have run 4 years ago!"

Re: SNAP! No you didn't!
I thought he delivered that one very well and was a good way to reiterate, "I'm a different man."

Re: SNAP! No you didn't!
yeah, but the fact that he has to keep fighting to show that is so not a good sign.

"Every other ad was an attack on my healthcare plan.."

It was getting in the way of my enjoyment of the game!

True point though Obama is spending big bucks..and he did just get advertisement in a few videogames.

Re: SNAP! No you didn't!
it really was to prevent a candidate from being owned by corporations and lobbyists. obama has, i believe, only taken contributions from individuals in the election.

howard dean inspired it. obama perfected it. the magical thing about this election is that we, the people, will have elected this man, both by our ballots and our wallets. we weren't bought by companies or corporate lobbies or any of that.

Actually, it's much less of a zinger when you note how often McCain disparages the "last eight years." He's campaigning against Bush more than Obama is, if you think about it. In the end, it sounds petulant, not witty.
