Monsoons and elections

Here's something common to both the US and India this year -- the fear of rain (or lack of) and its impact on elections. We hear it's raining in Virginia, a state some think might go to Obama in a blue about-face. Is that true? How are lines there, anyone? Any other weather reports that you see affecting voting.

A friend of mine in Virginia told me this morning he voted on the way to work and had to wait in line, which normally he never has to do on Election Day at his polling place.

We here in Florida have names for people who won't go stand in the rain to cast their vote, and it starts with a P- and is another name for kittens. What, you made of sugar? You gonna melt? Gimme a break! :P

Bad weather traditonally is bad for Dems b/c it lowers turnout. Most of the country is having decent weather today, though.

Yeah, but in NC the majority of early voters have been Democrats. Hmm... I am keeping my fingers crossed.

It's been raining hard for days here, until this morning that is :-D. The sun is out, and it's beautiful outside!

I'm on the west coast, so it's still early here. I plan to vote around mid-day (I work at home so I can pick my times). I don't anticipate a long wait, though there may be *some* wait as we have a loooonnnnggg ballot this election with a lot of important measures and local elections.

Oh it's definitely raining in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, and in fact there was a flood watch when I went out to vote this morning.

But as I mentioned in my previous post, it didn't seem to deter anyone who wanted to vote, the line only got longer and not shorter, despite the pouring rain.

Thankfully it's perfect here in Ohio. All around the state there are blue skies and 70 degree weather! Hoping for a blue state by the end of the day ;D

It's gorgeous weather in Missouri, almost unbelievably beautiful for November. Here in St. Louis there are blue skies, a light breeze, and 73 degrees.

It was raining here in Los Angeles (!!!) this morning and the line was almost 2 hours long at my polling place. It's not having an effect. I don't think anything can today, people are really motivated.
